Various photos of the pool August 2011

Stone steps and pathway I am building from the lower wildflower rain garden.

Photos of the pool from the Gazebo

Here are a few photos I took this past weekend. August 13. Pool temp is around 80 degrees, and I haven't turned the heater on since June.

Wild Flower Garden next to the pool

Here are some photos of the perennial garden I planted next to the pool - about 5' away. So far they haven't made a mess of the water. Red, orange day lilies and echinacea. You click on the images to enlarge. The colors are spectacular.

April 3rd Pool Opening in Ottawa, Canada

The temperature hit about 15 degrees (C) this past weekend and the ice finally melted off the black pool cover. The water on top of the cover was crystal clear and very very cold, so I thought I'd remove the cover and let it flow into the pool (before it turned murky with algae) .... I'll turn the pump on this coming weekend and do a backwash, then I'll add a bag of salt and run the filter for 24 hours and take some Chlorine and PH balance readings - I'll post the numbers here.

Two 18' diameter Solar blankets on Odysee II Pool

Here is the pool with both 18' diameter solar blankets in place. With the 2 blankets in place there is an overlap that I will cut to cover the remaining curve. Complete Solar Blanket cost = $80.
